edit: 8/03/14 added code to remove the 'modules' link under the title/page title

in space full size code. with header | without header instructions. 1. apply one of the brittle themes. 2. go to customize css. 3. apply whichever code you wish. 4. in the modules tab, make sure the profile and navigation are in the main module section. 5. profitt???? 6. comment pages have been stylized i think, but i still recommend turning them off :|a credit. please credit pastries somewhere and/or leave credit in the css!

So I've applied the theme but can't seem to add my personal header, no matter what I do to the code. Any tips?

it's saying that you have a display: none; value for #header somewhere but it isn't in the code you copy/pasted. sooo try reinstalling the theme without modifying anything or linking to any external stylesheets.

you don't put your header in the code, you change it in the journal settings.

the thing is you already have the title/subtitle there but when i inspect the code there are two things telling the header what to do, one of which says display: none;. i have no idea where it's coming from since i can't see your settings, but it looks as though you have a custom external stylesheet linked which is providing that code.

I'm having a little trouble understanding so I'm just going to post screencaps.

My title/subtitle is there because I input it in the journal settings rather than add it into the css coding like so.

I do not have an external stylesheet linked, I simply copied and pasted the layout coding into the space provided. (The screenshot shows the actual coding for the header).

I want to be able to put my own little header like the one in the picture provided above (the little picture icon with the journal title and subtitle as shown in the layout example. As far as I know, there is no place in the actual journal settings where you can input that kind of header.

that would be your default journal icon! it's not part of the header (by which i mean the class #header), which sits above it and contains only the journal title and subtitle

if you want to change the image to another icon or image (might get a tiny bit complicated because i'd have to figure that out) i can provide the code for that

also, uncheck use layout stylesheet. that's what's hiding your journal title/subtitle. i always forget to put this part in the instructions...

Hello! I really love this layout and I'd like to use it for one of my journals, but there seems to be an issue with the userpic and journal name in the header not showing up at all. I tried the headerless code and ran into the same problem, and I checked another journal which has apparently been using this layout for some time and it's doing the same thing. Is there some way to fix this? (I really hope so, as otherwise this layout is exactly what I was looking for :c)

check your modules! the module with profile and default icon should be in the main module section and the ticky box checked, otherwise nothing shows up there.

Hi! I'm having trouble with the header appearing like this and I can't seem to figure out what's going on with that. Is there something I missed that I was supposed to uncheck in another section?

in the modules main module section, only the profile and navigation should be checked and numbered 1 and 2 respectively. see if that fixes it?

aha! i found it. missed something while i was coding the thing.

find ul.userlite-interaction-links.icon-links in the code and replace it with ul.userlite-interaction-links.icon-links, ul.userlite-interaction-links.text-links. that should get rid of the buggers

the navigation is still there, it's just been pushed down by the interaction links. and it should be .text-links not -text-links, that's why it isn't working P:

using this and it's fantastic, but im having a bit of an issue: http://i.imgur.com/DjcRFNE.png I'm not sure how to fix this line running off the page and by the stylising do you mean unchecking the box under manage accounts or something in custom style (i feel like it's in the latter, but i am so out of it rn i can't remember)

make sure your journal is set to the 'brittle' theme! i.e. one of these themes. that should fix the line running off the page (it's not supposed to be there if you have the right theme selected). lemme know if that doesn't fix it tho and i'll take another look.

the stylising in question is this section under this page of the 'manage account'. checking the box will make your entry pages look like it does in the screenshot, with custom styled comments. unchecking it will show your entry pages in the site skin of whomever is viewing it. in this case, the option is available but i don't know if i've stylised everything properly so i don't recommend ticking it. P:
