One quick question.... how do I fix the spacing here so the boxes look like they do above?

mmmm do you have auto-formatting disabled on the entry page? this thing.

that's about the only thing i can think of that would make the result look like that. if it is checked, try unchecking it and see if that fixes it?

if that IS the issue and you prefer to disable auto-formatting for reasons, just add
tags where the line breaks are supposed to go.

my coding got lost and turned into an actual line break, i meant to put 'just add < br > tags' without the spaces.

one more.... right now it sits uneven like this. Will that even out as I fill in the row?

it should definitely even out; apparently dw's core code makes table cell contents align to the bottom, which is why it's like that. i updated the entry's code to make it align to the top because that just..... looks nicer.

but yes. once every one of them has an icon in it, they'll line up. you can put blank placeholder icons to achieve the same effect.
